Mission Trip to Kapit
Some university students organized a mission trip in June 2004 in partnership with the Kapit Iban Methodist Church. Twenty people took part, including Pastor Alex, who was the speaker. The purpose of this mission trip was to follow up on the people in the longhouses that they visited in March last year.
Although the people were still in the mood for Gawai celebrations, this did not hinder God’s ministry in Kapit. They visited seven longhouses and had a wonderful time with the residents there. They were very warm and friendly, and the children loved to listen to Bible stories, and to sing and draw.
The messages shared by Pastor Alex spoke to the Ibans, who wanted to know more about Christianity.
Tuai Rumah Jugo, the headman, was very happy to see them. He hopes they can visit his longhouse every year.
They shared the Gospel with 34 people, and seven accepted Christ.
