On seeing Uncle Button, their faces light up and they forget about their pain and illnesses. Uncle Button was invited by Malaysia Campus Crusade for Christ’s i-kids Ministry to visit the young patients in Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) last Christmas. He cheered them up by handing out attractive stickers and doing balloon sculptures. The clown was a hit with everyone, both young and old.

For the second year, i-kids coordinator Siew Choo organized a team of visitors to call on the children warded in UMMC. They included the wife of Transport Minister Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy, a few members of Petaling Jaya Jalan Tiga Gospel Hall, and Mr and Mrs Chew of Mega Chinese Methodist Church.

Datin Chan not only talked with the patients, she handed out gifts she’d prepared for them. i-kids also distributed 200 Christmas VCDs to the families of the patients and gave candy to the children.

The visitors were much appreciated by UMMC’s Communications officer Puan Nor Enson Abas who invited them to drop by again.
